it's become tradition / habit for me to text brian w. when i land in denver to let him know i'm in town and find out a time when we can see each other. he wasn't able to join me in aspen this year (one year i picked him up on my way and have invited him ever since) and when i asked if he could do dinner the following saturday (tonight) he invited me to join him and lisa at Hair. heck yes! so i met up with brian, joe, lisa and lisa's mom for dinner at bang! after which the 4 of us (joe didn't come along) headed downtown for the musical. what an amazing production! the music was fantastic, costumes were vibrant and there was much more crowd participation than i expected. i'd been looking forward to tonight since i got to denver a week ago.

this week has been incredibly draining. i haven't been going to bed early enough so by the end of the 4 hour fair today, i was exhausted. thankfully, i was able to sneak in a quick nap before meeting up for dinner. i had intended to turn in relatively early last night, but met up with jess r. for dinner, a couple glasses of wine and some shopping and didn't turn in until midnight. jess and i had a great time! she recently got engaged so was full of stories and excitement about the proposal and wedding. it might have been the wine, but i slept terribly so the nap this afternoon was especially appreciated. also, i need to rest up for my next mini adventure, which includes flying to and from albuquerque tomorrow for a 12-3 college fair. if all goes according to plan, i'll be back in denver by 6:15 tomorrow night.
